This building was inspired from an actual photograph of a confectionary that became a garage and repair shop out of necessity. I believe the prototype to be from the Midwest USA and established right around 1920 or so. The building was likely constructed just before the turn of the century and saw a number of lives well through the 19th century and even into the 20th century. The prototype photo showed a “Garage and Repair Shop” sign while boasting a “Confectionary” graphic on the awning showing changing of hands to keep the doors open in challenging times. No matter how you model this detailed little building, it is sure to start a conversation on its history and use.
