Giordano’s Grocers and Cold Storage

HO Scale Kit: Assembly and finishing required

Giordano’s Grocers and Cold Storage is modeled after a prototype produce packers building I saw a while back. It fits with any North America modeling area and era. This building is named in honor of my sister in-law’s father, Francesco (Frank) Giordano who we lost in early 2022 one day shy of his 96th birthday. Frank worked for the railroad in Edmonton, Alberta and was most at home in his garden, hence the grocer connection to the building.

The main building has two fronts, one for rail side service and the other for truck deliveries and pick up. It has a corrugated office added to one end and a storage shed and cage at the other end. The kit comes with many details including a water tower, custom laser cut doors and windows, various crates, hand trucks, sack castings and 3D printed power meters, electrical box and propane tank. There are printed interior graphics to represent the interior walls and details. A basic interior LED light kit is also included.
